Since 1965, Ford’s Mustang has been a sports car. In late 2019, Ford introduced the Mach-E, an electric SUV with the pony car’s moniker. Coleman Milne in the UK is converting this utilitarian model into a limousine and hearse.

Both use the 75.7-kWh battery pack with a usable capacity of 68 kWh and can travel 200 miles (322 kilometers) on a charge. That’s much lower than the official WLTP rating of 273 miles (440 kilometers), but the limo and hearse are heavier than the SUV. Hearses and limos usually drive short distances, thus the range loss shouldn’t be a problem.

The six-door limo is 114 millimeters (4.48 inches) taller and 6,279 millimeters (247.2 inches) longer than the Mustang Mach-E. Full privacy glass, a Perspex driver division screen, and the ability to lower the middle doors’ glass panes are optional. It can carry seven people and the driver.

The hearse has three full-size bearer seats and a flat, full-length deck. It has a large glass canopy and space for personal tributes. It can be upgraded with an electrically powered liftgate, a slide-out under-draw deck, lit signage, and a full-size sliding deck.

The duet is part of Coleman Milne’s Etive range. Road testing will encompass 40,000 km in the next months (nearly 65,000 kilometers). The company has been making hearses for over 60 years and offers ceremonial vehicles based on the Tesla Model S (Wisper Hearse) and a plug-in hybrid Mercedes E-Class.
