The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray is the first electrified sports automobile. With its electric motor and 6.2-liter V8, the hybrid variant produces 665 horsepower (481 kilowatts). Chevy claims the E-Ray can reach 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 2.5 seconds, making it the fastest production ‘Vette. 10.5 seconds at 130 mph is the quarter-mile sprint (209 kph).
A 160-hp (120 kW) electric motor powers the E-front Ray’s axle (165 Newton-meters). The system uses a 1.9-kWh lithium-ion battery. The hybrid Corvette can go up to 45 mph without the V8 in Stealth Mode (72 kph).
The combustion engine is the Stingray’s LT2 6.2-liter V8. It makes 495 horsepower (369 kW) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) in this application. A new 12-volt lithium-ion battery drives the E-stop-start Ray’s technology.
